Feel Ramadan – 18) Rules for each step!
Football game has a rule, not just one but a set of rules. One can not play the game, without knowing and following all the rules. The viewers will not enjoy or accept the play of one who doesn’t know rules. Not only for football, but all games have rules to follow. How beautiful is to watch games that are played within the boundary of it’s specific rules!
How amazing! Everyone agrees that rules are necessary for even an insignificant game. If so, don’t we need a set of rules for this life, which is not that insignificant? Of course, we do! Who should prepare the law of life? Is that we humans? No, it can’t be. For every equipment we buy, it is not us who prepare the working manual, nor the shop owner. But, it is precisely prepared by the manufactures. Then, who should set rules for our life? Without doubt, it must be our Creator.
Think, you are heading for a cruicial business meeting with a company directors. Would you go in a casual clothing or a swimming suite? How weird will that be! You would be all worried and fearful, right? It will not be easy for you to engage in conversation with the people who came in business suite, isn’t it? Yes, the minds of rule breakers will always be agitated and anxious.
Likewise, the peace of mind and serenity that a person feels, when he follows the laws of his Creator, may not be achieved by the one who breaks the rules of nature. Presence of the Highly Exalted in our minds, would pour in a marvelous feeling and inner contentment, even in our solitary moments. Even in the most private occasions, that Presence holds us back from slipping into the pitfalls of luring sins. As a close friend with whom we can open our bundles of any secrets, anytime, as a fresh rainfall of solace in the tearful instances of life, as a coterie Who provides happiness even in our memories, as a Savior who comes nearer with warnings, instructions and reminders and as the closest of all relationships… we will constantly experience that Greatest Power in our ways.
A believing woman came to Prophet (PBUH) and with whimper she said: Messenger of Allah, purify me! Whereupon Prophet enquired what is that which made her impure. She had committed fornication and became pregnant. The Prophet of Mercy said: You will not be punished until you deliver what is there in your womb. He made one of the Ansar (believers) became responsible for her until she delivers the child. He (that Ansari) came to Allah’s Messenger and said the woman has given birth to a child. The Prophet said: In that case we shall not stone her and so leave her infant with none to suckle him. When she had weaned him, she came to him (the Prophet) with the child who was holding a piece of bread in his hand. She said: Allah’s Apostle, here is he as I have weaned him and he eats food. He (the Prophet) entrusted the child to one of the believers and then pronounced punishment. She happily accepted her punishment. She did not postpone her punishment until the Day of Judgement. Instead, she bowed in front of the rule of Creator from this world itself and went back to Him all purified and contented. Sahih Muslim 17:4205, 4206
How can we describe her Fear of God? There is an indescribable beauty concealed in that Love for Allah. Haven’t you heard the story of a Shepherd Girl, who refused to add drop of water in the milk, even at the privacy of midnight? Haven’t you heard about the Sahaba who whimpered to make entire mob to whimper, upon hearing the verse which said all buried (alive) girls will be made alive once again and will ask for what reason they were slain? It’s the golden legendary of people who purified their minds and body, with the strength of imaan blossomed at the hearts.
God Fearing- this is NOT a phrase meant to reflect only as nasheeds, speeches, memorization or decoration. It is the only way to keep our hearts, thoughts and ways flawless. Ours is a trivial life, with no repetition. There is a rule to follow at every step and every breath. Let’s make this trivial life magnificent, by heedfully knowing and practicing the rules of life, way better than we do in games. In sha Allah!
